This Giving Tuesday, Help Us Make Hope Happen for Youth Mental Health
Your support matters now more than ever.
Dear YMHC Community Members,
On this Giving Tuesday, I'm reaching out with an urgent message of hope and opportunity. At Youth Mental Health Canada (YMHC), we believe every young person deserves access to mental health support and resources. Thanks to supporters like you, in the past year we've already donated over $100,000 worth of mental wellness workbooks to communities across Canada.
But there's still so much more to do.
Did you know that Canada has the third highest youth suicide rate in the industrialized world, with 528 young people aged 10-24 losing their lives in one year? Suicide is the second leading cause of death among youth and young adults (15-34 years) in Canada. This is why your support is so crucial.
Your Impact in Action:
Nearly 500 Ontario public libraries now offer YMHC resources
100 Indigenous organizations received mental wellness materials
100 universities across Canada accessed our support tools
72 Ontario school boards implemented our programs
We operate like a social enterprise: what we receive, we give back.
Every dollar you donate helps us:
✨ Develop evidence-based mental wellness workbooks to schools and families
🌟 Develop workshops and training for educators and mental health professionals
💖 Support students struggling with school attendance and mental health challenges
📚 Support 2025 National Conference: Taking Action on Chronic School Absenteeism
🌍 Expand our reach to help more young people across Canada
